The first season of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has just ended but fans are already looking forward to Season 2. However, it looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe series will not be getting a second season soon, at least not under its current title or without teasing on a character's transformation.
WARNING: Mild SPOILERS AHEAD from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 6! Proceed with caution!
In One World, One People, it was confirmed that Sam Wilson has officially taken the Captain America mantle. With his new wingsuit and with moves that would make Steve Rogers proud, Sam embraced his new title and delivered his first speech as Cap.
Not surprisingly, Sam's new title also made some interesting changes to the show's title card. Although the previous episodes featured a title card that reads "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier," this was changed to "Captain America and The Winter Soldier" in the season finale.
It's a completely new title and it could mean that if the series does get a follow-up, it will no longer be known as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Instead, the second season will be called Captain America and The Winter Soldier and technically, that would be its first season under that name.
But is there a chance that Season 2 will not actually be about Sam? There is a possibility that we could finally get to see Joaquin Torres become the new Falcon in the show's second season. However, this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.
For now, Marvel Studios and Disney have not yet renewed The Falcon and The Winter Soldier for a second season. However, there is a huge possibility that we haven't seen the last of the series just yet.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 6 is now available on Disney+.
