The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Here's Why Baron Zemo Wore his Mask Before Saving Sam and Bucky

There is little doubt that Marvel fans are warming up to Baron Helmut Zemo after he actually helped Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. However, the villain also made an unusual move when it was time to save the duo from bounty hunters. But why did Zemo put on his mask before helping Sam and Bucky?

In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 3, Sam and Bucky broke Zemo out of prison, and in exchange, he brought them to Madripoor where they learned about Power Broker. Unfortunately, their cover is blown and they get chased down by bounty hunters.

At one point, Zemo disappears, leaving Sam and Bucky to fend for themselves. As they are surrounded by the bounty hunters, Zemo suddenly reappears on a rooftop, donning his mask and terrifying the men.

But why put on the mask before helping out? Zemo's move was obviously an intimidating one and it leans against his reputation as a well-known villain. It certainly worked and they all got away with a little help from Sharon Carter.

The purple mask only appeared briefly but there is little doubt we'll be seeing more of it in the upcoming episodes of the Marvel series. Interestingly, there's a possibility we'll see it again in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 4.

The next episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has not yet been given an official title. Nevertheless, it is set to premiere on Disney+ on April 9.
