Avatar: The Last Airbender will go down in history as one of the best animated shows ever made, and Netflix has just announced that the head writer, Aaron Ehasz, is working on a new show with them.

According to The Verge, Ehasz will be joined by Uncharted 3 game director Justin Richmond as co-creator. Longtime Last Airbender director Giancarlo Volpe is also onboard the show as an executive producer.
It's worth noting that besides Last Airbender, Ehasz has also worked on another pop-culture favorite, Futurama. He did, however, have no credit when it came to making The Last Airbender's spinoff, The Legend of Korra.
I absolutely loved The Last Airbender, and I can't wait to see what Ehasz has in store for The Dragon Prince. Sure I don't know how much of the world in ATLA he actually built, but the humor and storytelling was just so fantastic, that The Dragon Prince is something I will definitely watch out for.
Ehasz also had this to say when it came to work on shows:
"The thing I take away from Futurama and The Last Airbender is that the audience is very, very smart… All the details, nuance, and things you build into a story and characters? There may be people who don't appreciate it, but there are so many out there who do and are paying attention. We're spending all this time on this series and game making sure those details feel right, and that there are things to discover, and that things beneath the surface are worth it because there are tons of people out there who want and deserve that. We need to make something good enough for them."
For now, we don't know that much about The Dragon Prince, but the show is expected to hold its own panel at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month. The panel takes place on July 7, 11 a.m. in room 25ABC.
No release date has been announced for Netflix's The Dragon Prince.
