What Happened in The Dawn of the Witch Episode 3?
Saybil and Hort begin the episode by discussing everything that has happened on their journey to the South village. While Hort is concerned about everyone's good treatment of her despite her identity being revealed, Saybil assures her that she doesn't need to worry about it any longer.
Hort allows Saybil to touch her antlers as part of her trust in him. She reveals that she joined the church to cleanse herself because the people around her thought she was the demon's daughter. She also tells Saybil that she has been studying Beastfallen in order to prove herself worthy.
Meanwhile, Saybil empathizes with and comforts Hort. As a result, before going to bed, Hort kisses Saybil on the cheeks. Professor Loux appears and says a few words about love.
Saybil and the others perform healing magic on Kudo in the morning. In case you missed it, the Arbiter decapitated Kudo's hands and tail. Having said that, Professor Loux recommends using healing magic in conjunction with Saybil's infinite magic. Kudo chants the magical spell while Professor Loux manages the flow of magic within the four of them as they stand hand in hand.
Following that, the episode shifts to a bath scene in which Kudo and Saybil discuss why they both want to become mages. Kudo explains that he was a former entertainer in a freak show when the great disaster struck and the Dragon Conqueror King appeared to save him. Kudo wishes to join the Dragon Knights, but in order to do so, he must first become a mage.
Before Saybil can tell his story, Professor Loux appears naked in front of them, distracting them both. She believes that there is nothing wrong with mix-bathing because it was perfectly acceptable back then. In case you missed it, Professor Loux, the Dawn Witch, has been alive for nearly 300 years! Anyway, Kudo and Saybil decide to exit the bath, only to be met by a naked Hort on their way!
Following that, the story shifts to their adventures and training on their way to the South Village. It appears to be a time jump in which Professor Loux teaches everyone about her travel methods, which include camping, bathing, and looking for food. In the midst of all of this, Kudo questioned Professor Loux about the motivation behind the special field training program. She claims she wishes to meet the author of the Grimoire of Zero, also known as the Mud Black Witch.
As a result, the group comes across a running child who asks them to hide in a tree protected by his barrier. The child, it turns out, is fleeing a beast mercenary. Unfortunately, their cover was insufficient to fool the beast mercenary. As a result, with the assistance of Professor Loux and her Ludens staff, Hort, Saybil, Kudo, and the child escape. The episode concludes with an encounter with the green-headed Father in front of a suspicious Church.
