It has been a long wait but the highly anticipated The Dark Crystal prequel series is finally arriving this year. The first poster from the new Netflix show has just been released and its a truly magical look at what to look forward to in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

In the poster, the three Gelflings Rian, Brea, and Deet are shown looking upon the Skeksis' castle as the three suns of the planet Thra appear in the horizon. It's an amazing glimpse at the journey the trio will need to go through as they try to save the world.
The poster was released ahead of the stunning first trailer for Age of Resistance. Needless to say, we can't wait to see the prequel to the beloved Jim Henson classic.
The series stars Rocketman actor Taron Egerton as Rian, Glass actress Anya Taylor-Joy as Brea, and Game of Thrones alum Nathalie Emmanuel as Deet. They will be joined by an astounding list of voice actors including Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham Carter, Natalie Dormer, Mark Hamill, Jason Isaacs, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Hannah John-Kamen, Toby Jones, Keegan-Michael Key, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Mark Strong, and Alicia Vikander.
The synopsis for Age of Resistance reads as follows:
"The story follows three Gelflings – Rian, Brea, and Deet – as they discover the secret behind the Skeksis' power, and undertake a quest to start a rebellion and save the world."
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will premiere on Netflix on August 30.
