The Child’s Play Reboot Throws Serious Shade on Toy Story 4

Toy Story 4 and the Child's Play reboot come out on the same day, and though everyone is sure that Toy Story is going to come out the winner in the box office, the marketing for Child's Play has decided to have a little fun with their promotion.

Check out this new poster they released:

It's basically the same poster for Toy Story 4 with the same background, and you can see the cowboy hat resembling Woody's; I guess Disney would then have to sue if they actually used the same yellow pattern that Woody has on his clothes, so it was the smarter decision to change it slightly.

I'd actually be amazed if this came out in theaters as well. Just imagine going to the cinemas and having the two posters together; talk about cross-promotion.

For now, everyone is still lukewarm about the upcoming Child's Play movie. I think some fans are distraught that they decided to make Chucky's origin more sci-fi than supernatural, but I'm sure a lot of people just want to see how Mark Hamill will handle the voice of the character. Personally, I'm hoping he plays one of the scientists who bring this doll to life.

After moving to a new city, young Andy Barclay receives a special present from his mother -- a seemingly innocent Buddi doll that becomes his best friend. When the doll suddenly takes on a life of its own, Andy unites with other neighborhood children to stop the sinister toy from wreaking bloody havoc.

Child's Play and Toy Story 4 come out on June 21.
