The Boys Season 3 still has an episode left before the grand finale, but Karl Urban, who plays Billy Butcher, already dropped a major The Boys Season 4 update. By the looks of it, fans are about to see the new season sooner than expected as it’s about to begin its production.
Karl Urban reveals The Boys Season 4 is set to start filming in late August. With that said, a new season might premiere as soon as 2023 on Prime Video, so fans don’t have to wait much longer.
Karl Urban Reveals the Start of The Boys Season 4 Filming
In an interview with Collider for his new Netflix movie The Sea Beast, the Star Trek star revealed when The Boys would be back together after the third season.
He said,
"Yeah, we're starting I think August 22, we're going to be starting season four. So I'm getting back, getting my Butcher back on, and I can't wait. It's a fun gang to play with, we work hard and play hard, and I can't wait to see where they take the characters from where we leave them at the end of this season.”
So, what’s next for this bunch of unconventional superheroes? Sadly, Karl Urban has yet to see the scripts for The Boys Season 4, but he expects it to be “insane” once again.

He explained,
“We're about two months away from filming, and I have no idea. So that'll tell you something, but yeah, not too far away. I mean, I expect that we'll... I'm actually going to be seeing Kripke next week and I expect conversations will start to happen about what he's got in store. I like to give them the respect of being able to do their writing process and not be harassed by actors going, "What are we doing?" But I can't wait. They always come up with insane stuff, so yeah, it's going to be fun.”
The Boys Season 4 Confirmation
Prime Video confirmed the coming of The Boys Season 4 a week after Season 3 debuted.
Nothing is known about the fourth season, seeing the third season is yet to end, but fans assume the original cast to return to reprise their roles. That’s if their characters don’t get killed off.

Screenrant noted there might be more of Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Butcher himself. Would there also be Herogasm 2.0?

The balance between The Boys and The Seven is hanging by a thread. Homelander (Antony Starr) has become more erratic. At the same time, Butcher is willing to do everything to get his revenge on the superhero while trying to work inside the boundaries of the Law.

So far, the series has dropped seven episodes and the final episode, The Instant White-Hot Wild, will be out on Friday, July 8.
