It's been rumored since last week that The Book of Boba Fett's fifth chapter will feature a long-awaited return from a familiar face and while that actually happened, it's safe to say that no one expected Lucasfilm to pull a major swerve and basically turn Chapter 5 into a filler episode for The Mandalorian.

The Mando-centric episode featuring the anticipated Star Wars return of Pedro Pascal sees Din Djarin go back to his usual bounty hunting shenanigans. Not only does his appearance in the said episode help shape up the events of the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian which hits Disney+ sometime this year but it also helps further Boba Fett's own story as seen during the closing moments.

Naturally, Star Wars fans were thrilled to see Mando back in action but his return was not only filled with surprises but with welcome changes as well. Chapter 5 finally marked the debut of Din's new ship after the Razor Crest was wrecked into pieces in Chapter 14: The Tragedy thanks to Moff Gideon.

Turns out, Mando turned to Peli Motto for help but instead of giving him a ship identical to the Razor Crest, the famed mechanic repurposed a ship that longtime fans of the franchise will easily recognize. Chapter 5 sees the return of the N-1 Starfighter which made its first live-action appearance in The Phantom Menace and while it feels unusual to see Mando piloting a starfighter as opposed to a gunship, it still works.

There's no denying that the Razor Crest is already etched in Star Wars history as one of the most iconic ships to ever come out of the franchise but the return of the N-1 Starfighter is definitely a nice callback to the prequels. Hopefully, it doesn't suffer the same fate as Mando's previous gunship.

The Book of Boba Fett's Episode 5 is now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
