No, The Bear is not a spin-off of the hit TV series, Shameless. The latter had a total of 11 seasons, with episodes running from 2011 to 2021.
One of the reasons why people think The Bear is a Shameless spin-off is because Jeremy Allen White plays the role of a well-loved character in the dark comedy series.
The two shows also center on family and how each member steps up to the challenge.
After playing the role of Lip Gallagher for a decade, White was actually concerned about the comparisons between the two shows.
He revealed to GQ that the writing impressed him so much, which is why he agreed to do the show.
"I think I was too concerned with what other people might think. I also knew that if I said no to this, that whoever ended up doing it, I would hate them forever. So there was some spiteful stuff going on, too."
What Is The Bear Story About?
FX's The Bear follows the story of Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto (played by White), a professionally-trained chef who leaves the craft to run the sandwich shop owned by his family in Chicago.
Similar to his role in Shameless, White plays a gifted young man in The Bear with a dysfunctional working-class family.
Even though The Bear makes use of culinary terminologies and highlights food throughout the series, the show is actually focused on family and how it affects us all our lives.
Will There Be a The Bear Season 3?
After getting released in June, The Bear Season 2 received much praise. It won't be a surprise that it will get several Emmy nominations as it did with the previous season.
Right now, we still don't know if there will be a The Bear Season 3. But if the show gets renewed for a third season, it's possible that it could be released in June 2024 right away.
After all, this is the same pattern that The Bear Season 2 did.
