The Batman Will Reportedly Get Major Casting News This Year, Ben Affleck Getting Replaced?

It seems like things are looking up for The Batman. While we aren't sure if Ben Affleck will be returning to the role, director Matt Reeves reportedly submitted a script that was approved and shooting will supposedly happen later this year. Seems like this won't be the last time we will be hearing about the movie as another report claims that major casting news regarding the film will be announced this year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, fans should expect a major casting announcement if the studio wants to start production later this year. The report also claims that Bruce Wayne could be recast with a younger actor, a rumor that has been rampant since the build towards Justice League. However, with Affleck busy with a number of projects like I Am Still Alive, he may indeed get replaced.

Considering how there are reports about Loki having Tom Hiddleston narrate his character's life story while a younger actor takes the reins, it would be cool seeing a younger Bruce Wayne who eventually becomes Ben Affleck's Batman. Granted, this would kill a lot of tension since we will know that he survives in every movie but what else is new?

Things are going well for Warner Bros. and DC, with Aquaman making a ton of money worldwide. Young Justice has also gained a lot of positive reviews with season 3, which is really nice to hear. Hopefully, Shazam will be another step in the right direction.

No release date for The Batman has been announced, as of this writing.
