The Batman Official Website Seemingly Confirms Joker's Sequel Return


At this point, everybody knows what happened in The Batman. After all, people simply can't stop talking about the brief scene where Edward Nashton makes a friend at Arkham Asylum. Since then, fans have been convinced that Barry Keoghan's mysterious character will be brought back in the film's planned sequel. Interestingly, Joker's return may have been confirmed by the movie's official website!

The official website for The Batman features a new message from The Riddler, leaving clues so visitors could "unmask everything that has yet to be revealed." Interestingly, the villain assures the reader that he is "safe here" and that he is "with my new friend." The message then states that "we will see you soon."

If you don't already know, that friend is none other than the Joker. And if this tease isn't enough, a fan has figured out one of the clues that the website has shared. Check it out below.

It might not be a huge surprise considering that the Joker is one of the characters that fans have been hoping to face Robert Pattinson's Batman. However, director Matt Reeves had previously stated that the villain isn't going to play a large role in the sequel. On the other hand, the filmmaker might be trying to keep Barry Keoghan's involvement in the second film a secret. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Barry Keoghan's cameo in The Batman was something that fans couldn't stop talking about before the film was released theatrically. Although the actor was originally reported to play a Gotham City policeman, it has since been confirmed that he portrayed the Arkham Asylum inmate who befriends the Riddler.

The Batman also stars Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The film is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
