There is a good reason why The Batman is currently trending all over social media. A new trailer for the upcoming DC film has been released quietly but still managed to cause fans to hype up The Bat and The Cat. Now it looks like the movie's HBO Max release date has been revealed and it's actually a lot sooner than anticipated!

People are undoubtedly delighted that The Batman is getting a full theatrical release next year. After all, it would mean fans will get to enjoy the film in the cinema and it is set to earn much more at the box office.

But how soon will The Batman get its digital release on HBO Max? WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar has just confirmed that the movie will be available on the streaming service a little over a month after it hits cinemas.

Kilar was recently a guest on Peter Kafka's Recode Media podcast where he confirmed that films will be made available on HBO Max a lot sooner starting next year. He then made an example of The Batman.

"Think about when movies would show up on HBO Max or HBO, which is eight to nine months after theatrical premiere," Kilar said. "The Batman's going to show up on Day 46 on HBO Max. That is a huge change from where things were in 2018, 2017, 2016."

That's right, fans will only need to wait a month and a half to see The Batman on HBO Max. It's a surprising move from Warner Bros. considering that people were expecting to wait a lot longer for the film's digital release.

But will it work for The Batman? Some believe it's a risky move but it could also work to the film's advantage. Either way, we'll have to wait until next year to find out.

The Batman will premiere in theaters on March 4, 2022.
