The Batman Gets Low R Rating for Mild Sex and Nudity

We already know that The Batman is going to be a violent film but it looks like the highly-anticipated DC flick is also set to be a little risque! The international rating for the Robert Pattinson movie just got a warning for mild sex and nudity!

The revelation comes from the Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO) who decided on The Batman's content rating. The office has reviewed the film and slapped it with a 15A rating, which means that it is appropriate for viewers aged 15 and above. However, viewers below 15 years can watch the film as long as they are accompanied by an adult. This is equivalent to a low R rating in the US.

But what's with the rating? According to IFCO, The Batman contains "strong violence and language, moderate drugs and mild sex/nudity." This suggests that the action scenes are not the only ones to watch out for in the upcoming Matt Reeves movie.

It shouldn't be a huge surprise that The Batman is getting an R rating in certain territories. The trailers have already confirmed that Robert Pattinson's version of Bruce Wayne will be a truly violent one who doesn't hold back when beating down on the bad guys. It has also been teased that the Caped Crusader could be getting some sexy time with Catwoman so that's definitely something to look forward to this March.

The film follows Pattinson's Bruce Wayne on his second year as the Caped Crusader where he deals with a serial killer known as The Riddler who has been targetting the elite citizens of Gotham City.

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and also stars Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The movie will hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
