The Batman: Fanart Imagines Farrell and Serkis, the Penguin and Alfred

It looks like the main ensemble for The Batman has been completed with Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis, and a lot of people are excited to see everyone in costume. Though it could be a while before we get the first look, BossLogic has given us some mock-ups of what the two could look like as the Penguin and Alfred respectively.

Check them out:

While I'm sure Serkis can pull off "sarcastic British man-servant", I'm curious about what kind of take Collin Farrell's Penguin will be. Though he's traditionally portrayed as portly and disfigured, we've been getting alternate versions of the character recently where he looks sleeker (e.g., Gotham). Maybe the film would give us that version with Farrell's take, but I would also be interested to see him gain some weight as Christian Bale did for Vice.

One thing I hope they don't take away though is Farrell's native Irish accent. It just adds so much to his character, and I think it would be fun to see an Irish Oswald Cobblepot. It would be interesting to see him interact with Paul Dano's Riddler, and possibly the rest of the rumored villains for the movie, whoever they are.

For now, it looks like Farrell is still in talks though, and it's possible that someone else could nab the role. If anything, a lot of fans are already on board for the casting decision, and hopefully, they finally nab someone to play Penguin.

The Batman is set for a release on June 25, 2021.
