Last week, fans finally got their first look at Robert Pattinson's Batmobile when director Matt Reeves dropped the photos on his Twitter account. While some might think that the Batman's ride lacks bat-themed insignias, as it turns out, the Batmobile actually has a huge bat symbol cleverly placed on it.
A fan recently asked concept artist Ash Thorp, who designed the new Batmobile, on whether or not the Batman emblem was actually present in the vehicle. The fan then attached a photo of the Batmobile, with an outline of the symbol seen on the engine. Thorp then confirmed that the design is actually there, as well as in another view of the Batmobile, revealing that it was intended. You can check out their exchange below.
While the Batmobile's design is quite simple compared to the previous ones, Thorp's take on the iconic vehicle is truly unique and clever. Pattinson's ride for this film is certainly reminiscent of the designs in the early comics, it is sleek and clean, compared to the other versions in the films that are quite heavily stylized. Of course, fans have different opinions when it comes to the Batmobile and they have varying thoughts on this new one as well.
Aside from the Batmobile, Pattinson will also have a Batcycle in the movie. Though it has not been officially revealed by Reeves, fans got their first look at the vehicle in set photos leaked last month.
Joining Pattinson in the upcoming film is Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
