The Bad Guys Team-Up in New Trailer for Glass

[THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SPLIT AND UNBREAKABLE]

When Split came out in 2016, nobody was expecting it to tie-in to M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable at all. Now with the upcoming Glass, Shyamalan wants to have his ‘superheroes' team-up in one movie, and a new trailer has just dropped.

Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb's superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

By the looks of it, Glass won't really be a team-up of all three characters but more of a ‘good guy versus bad guys' deal. In Unbreakable, it was revealed that Mr. Glass saw himself as a supervillain, and he orchestrated the deaths of hundreds so he could find his one and only ‘nemesis'—David Dunn (Bruce Willis).

Based on what we see in the new trailer, it looks like Glass will be teaming up with Kevin Crumb (James McAvoy) to wreak havoc, and it will be up to the unbreakable David Dunn to stop the both of them. We'll also see the return of Casey Cooke (Anya Taylor-Joy) from Split as well, and I think she'll be on Dunn's side in this fight.

Though I would expect this movie to have the classic Shyamalan twist, the absence of one from Split makes me feel like it will absent for this movie as well. Then again, the reveal that Glass was the bad guy was what made Unbreakable such a big hit, and I'm hoping Shyamalan manages to pull a classic one under the rug one more time for this film.

Glass hits theaters Jan. 18, 2019.
