Next year, the upcoming highly-anticipated Star Wars live-action series The Acolyte is set to arrive on Disney+. Fans have been looking forward to seeing how the show will bring the High Republic era of the galaxy into a live-action setting.

Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland is the mastermind behind the series. Unlike the other live-action shows, it is not set within the MandoVerse nor closer to the prequel and original trilogy timeline since the events will take place 100 years before The Phantom Menace.

A lot of fans are hoping that the upcoming series will deliver, especially since it is going to explore an unexplored territory in the franchise in the live-action space.

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) website has revealed the full list of writers who worked on the first season of The Acolyte. Some of them are from familiar franchise shows that have previously aired or still airing at the moment.

As expected, Headland wrote the pilot episode of the series, setting up the tone and style that the subsequent episodes will follow for the rest of its run.

House of the Dragon writer Charmaine DeGrate and Heathers writer Jason Micallef penned the second episode. Another House of the Dragon alumnus Eileen Shim worked on the third episode together with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer Jasmyne Flournoy.

Dune: The Sisterhood writer Kor Adana worked on the fourth episode together with Watchmen alumnus Claire Kiechel. Adana also wrote the fifth episode and, this time around, he worked with WandaVision writer Cameron Squires.

Headland's fellow Russian Doll writer Jocelyn Bioh and Micallef were responsible for the sixth episode. DeGrate, Flournoy, and Blindspotting writer Jen Richards penned the seventh and penultimate episode of the season.

As for the eight-episode aka the season finale, Micallef was credited as the sole writer.

Looking at the credentials of the writers that they recruited for the series, it is an impressive lineup since almost all of them have experience working on genre shows and some of them even got involved in popular franchises as well.

While we don't know yet whether their work for the series ends up going well until we see all eight episodes, it is still a promising indication since a lot of talented individuals were involved in shaping the story of the series.

The Acolyte is slated to release on Disney+ in 2024.
