The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland opened up about the twists that she has in store for the upcoming episodes following episode 3's shocking reveal.

The recently-aired third episode titled "Destiny" revealed that the twin characters Osha and Mae were not conceived biologically just like Anakin Skywalker and the heartbreaking circumstance of their separation.

Since the series premiered last week, fans have been speculating about the origins of Osha and Mae as there are hints that there is an unexpected backstory behind their conception.

The Acolyte Showrunner Promises More Twists

In a recent interview, Headland discussed the shocking reveal regarding the birth of Osha and Mae in episode 3 of The Acolyte.

She promised that more twists are still coming in the upcoming episode as they explore more of the twin characters' origins.

"If you keep watching the show, we do talk about that and explore that. I would say there isn't one answer to it," the showrunner teased.

"Some characters believe certain things, and other characters believe other things in terms of what she means by that. So you're going to have to watch and decide which side of that argument you're on."

It was clear in the recent episode that they have not told the complete story of what happened in Brendok and several parts of the backstory have unanswered questions so it's not surprising to hear that there will be more twists.

Perhaps we will learn at some point that the four Jedis have a bigger part beyond what they've shown so far or that the conception of the twins involves the manipulation of midi-chlorians.

There are a lot of possibilities that they can explore with the other twists, and it is interesting to see how it all plays out as the mystery gets more intriguing.

New episodes of The Acolyte premiere every Tuesday night on Disney+.
