The Acolyte’s Lee Jung-Jae continues to get praise from viewers thanks to his performance as Master Sol.

While he already got a lot of attention in the first two episodes, the third episode solidified him as one of the highlights of the show, at least based on reactions from fans.

Even before being cast in the series, Lee Jung-Jae has already played many notable roles in various films and shows. Now, he continues to show off his impressive acting skills as a Jedi Master.

Fans are Praising Lee Jung-Jae’s Acting Chops as Master Sol

Lee Jung-Jae is one of South Korea’s most popular actors, and he gained worldwide renown for playing the protagonist Seong Gi-hun in Netflix’s mega-hit Squid Game which premiered in 2021.

In 2022, Jung-Jae was cast in The Acolyte as Jedi Master Sol. This was a surprising announcement for many, especially as he has worked almost exclusively in Korean productions, not to mention that this is his first English-speaking role.

Despite the challenging nature of the role, Jung-Jae has proven his acting chops as he has garnered a lot of praise following the show’s premiere. With the third episode out, Jung-Jae continues to get lauded by fans.

On social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit, lots of Star Wars fans have showered Jung-Jae with praise thanks to his portrayal of the subdued yet warm Master Sol.

Many have also remarked that Master Sol is reminiscent of Qui-Gon Jinn from Episode 1. As such, many viewers are also hoping that Sol isn’t revealed to be the bad guy in Osha and Mae’s story.

Fans will need to wait until all the mysteries are answered, but if he ends up surviving the events of The Acolyte, it won’t be a surprise if he appears in future projects given the same happened to many characters in the Disney+ shows.

Master Sol’s Positive Reception May Open up Future Appearances

Since The Mandalorian premiered in 2019, the Star Wars Disney+ original shows have seen crossovers of various characters, with the likes of Ahsoka and Din Djarin appearing in multiple titles.

Given Master Sol’s great reception, it would make sense to bring him back to either a second season or to another Star Wars show that’s set in the High Republic timeline.

Appearances in other properties like novels, comics, or games are also possible if Lucasfilm is keen to tell more stories in the time before Episode 1.
