The recently-aired episode 5 of The Acolyte teased a surprising connection between Sol and the Sith Lord.

One of the major mysteries of the series is the identity of Mae's mysterious Sith Lord, which was finally revealed in the new episode after weeks of speculations from many fans.

We've also seen hints that the Sith Lord is somehow related to the Jedi's unexplained role in the tragic event in Brendok that led to the death of Mother Aniseya's witch coven and the separation of Mae and Osha.

Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for The Acolyte episode 5, so proceed with caution.

The Acolyte Episode 5 Teases Connection Between Sol and Sith Lord Qimir

It was revealed in episode 5 of The Acolyte that Qimir is the identity behind the mysterious Sith Lord that Mae is serving.

Qimir told Sol during the confrontation that he wanted the freedom to wield his powers without the Jedi's knowledge and have his own "acolyte." However, after Mae exposes him, he now decides to kill every single one of them.

Yord joined the fight, but Qimir ended up snapping his neck. Mae tried to run away and she was stopped by Osha with a blaster.

As the confrontation continued, Qimir interestingly told Sol, "I’ve accepted my darkness. What have you done with yours?"

Sol looked horrified when he heard the line and reminded Qimir that Jedis are not supposed to attack someone who is unharmed.

It is also worth noting that, during their fight, Sol remarked that he sensed a familiarity with Qimir.

This suggests that Sol and Qimir may have had a connection in the past that led to where they are today, and it is something that future episodes might explore since there are more unanswered questions regarding the Brendok event.

Given that they will feature more Brendok flashback sequences in an upcoming episode, we should be getting more explanation and uncovering that will clarify what we're seeing in the present day.

New episodes of The Acolyte premiere every Tuesday night on Disney+.
