Lucasfilm's Star Wars film slate may be stagnant right now but the franchise continues its streak of delivering content through streaming. While we'll have to wait until 2025 at the earliest for the next film to be released, the franchise's series slate is stacked for the next two years with shows like The Mandalorian Season 3, Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, Andor Season 2, The Acolyte, and potentially more all lined up.
Speaking of The Acolyte, new details about the intriguing project are coming to light courtesy of one of its lead stars Dafne Keen. In an interview with TechRadar, the Logan and His Dark Materials star shared juicy details about the upcoming series which is set a century before the events of the prequel trilogy. Keen said the following:
I can tease that itās a prequel. No, I mean, you know itās set one hundred years before the prequel movies, and itās kind of an explanation of how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi. Itās a Sith-led story, which has never been done before."
She continued: "Itās been really fun to film, the cast is amazing, and the director [Leslye Headland] and crew are just lovely. The whole experience is wonderful and Iām already excited for people to see it

It's still unclear what kind of role Keen plays in the series but judging by her statement, it would be safe to assume that she's one of the Sith. Star Wars hasn't really done projects that are centered on the franchise's villains so The Acolyte definitely sounds like a breath of fresh air.
Star Wars' The Acolyte is expected to release sometime in 2024 exclusively on Disney+.
