In That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime we follow a man in his late thirties who is murdered, then gets reincarnated from a relatively purposeless life into a fantastic one, where he can have adventures he had never imagined. The only setback is explained in the title: he must now live as a slime.

In his new, magical world, however, this form isn't entirely useless; on the contrary. Using a spell called "Gluttony," our main character can devour anything and assume its form. After befriending and helping a dragon, he's given the name Rimuru Tempest, has many adventures, and makes friends.

We spend a large portion of Episode 9, titled "Putting Everything on the Line," with Rimuru and his council. All his allies and friends reassure him that they're still loyal to him and don't blame him for the attack on Tempest.

Their devotion is deeply moving, particularly since Rimuru likely never expected to make so many friends - being slime-formed would have seemed forbidding in that respect. His people's faith in him strengthens Rimuru's resolve to become a Demon Lord for a chance to resurrect his dead friends.

But becoming a Demon Lord is neither an easy nor a light path. It will require the murder and consumption of thousands of enemy soldiers. The armies who are ready to attack Tempest provide an excuse for Rimuru to evolve faster, and he claims he won't feel pity for those he kills, since they're responsible for his friend's demise.

Even so, Rimuru's resolution and somber attitude before facing the enemies are very different from his usual cheerful demeanor. Will he manage to become a Demon Lord and, if so, how will this path change him?

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 Episode 10 (also referred to as episode 34 by Crunchyroll, counting the 24 episodes of season 1 as well) will air next Tuesday the 16th of March 2021 in Japan. Premium Crunchyrollusers will be able to watch Episode 10 on that date.

Non-premium Crunchyroll users will have to wait a few weeks, as all episodes past episode 3 of season 2 are currently only available to premium users.
