How did Thaddeus become a ghoul in the Fallout series? When Maximus and Lucy MacLean were hoping to retrieve the Doctor's head from Thaddeus, he set himself on a booby trap, which begs the question, is he a ghoul? How did he become one?

Who is Thaddeus in the Fallout Series? Is He in the Game?
Thaddeus (played by actor-comedian Johnny Pemberton) is one of Maximus' colleagues on the Brotherhood of Steel, but not in the way you think.
He used to work as a 'sh*tter' where he would be fed to excrete and have his feces sold to feed flies as protein for the fly farm. He was previously seen as weaker, but he knew how to navigate among society.
Thaddeus was the 'consummate bully' who bullies others they deem as 'weak'; their target happened to be Maximus (Aaron Clifton Moten) at the time.
Thanks to this move, Thaddeus' popularity grew and he was never bullied since.
News of becoming a ghoul came about in Fallout episode 7 when Maximus noticed that the arrow that went through his neck didn't kill him. And so, as he asked, "I think you might be a ghoul." So, is he?

Did Thaddeus Become a Ghoul in the Prime Series?
Unfortunately, he did. See, Thaddeus met a snake oil salesman when he injured his foot while traveling with Siggi Wilzig's head (after he stole it from Lucy MacLean).
The salesman traded a "serum" that could heal Thaddeus' foot in exchange for the fusion core that he got from Maximus' power armor.
The salesman appeared to have intentionally kept the side effects from Thaddeus, and that side effect happened to be turning into a ghoul himself.
We haven't seen Thaddeus since he ran away from the Brotherhood and Maximus and Lucy, but since we did get to see how his arrowed neck healed from its injury, that pretty much confirms it.
