The marketing team behind Terminator: Genisys has released a new video featuring Sarah Connor played by Emilia Clarke, who's best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen, aka "The Mother of Dragons", in HBO's Game of Thrones.
This short video, which is essentially a motion poster, opens on what seems to be an Iron Throne made of mercury; it suddenly into a puddle a la the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and shapeshifts into Clarke's character, "The Mother of Resistance".
Terminator Genisys is the first part of a standalone Terminator trilogy. In it, John Connor, leader of the resistance in the year 2029, continues the war against the machines. When he learns of a plot to send a Terminator back in time to kill his mother, he sends Kyle Reese to protect her, but the Sarah Connor that Kyle finds is different than what he expected.
Terminator Genisys stars franchise icon Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as newcomers Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-Hun Lee, and JK Simmons. The film is directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World).
Terminator Genisys hits theaters July 1, 2015.
