Teen Mom 2 alum Jenelle Evans and her mom Barbara are in a custody battle over her 12-year-old son Jace. In a series of tweets Wednesday, Jenelle shaded her mom Barbara saying she wasn't the most honest person.
Teen Mom 2 Star Jenelle Evans Wants Jace's Custody
Jenelle answered several questions from her fans on Twitter. In one post, she shared that she gave her mom, Barbara, temporary custody of her son Jace when she was only 17. According to her, the decision had nothing to do with drugs but her being a fearful little girl. At the time, she felt that she would lose if she fought against her mom.
In another tweet, she shared that Child Protective Services (CPS) urged her to "sign him over to your mom or he's going to foster care." Of course, Jenelle didn't want to be away from her son, and she was convinced of the threat, so she signed Jace's custody over to her mom.
According to Jenelle, it was her mom who urged her to have fun with her friends. Barbara also encouraged her to have a sleepover with her pals. However, the next day she arrived at the driveway with the CPS with someone saying she hadn't gone home for days.
"Bet none of you knew that, was it ever aired on tv? No. I'm sick of the truth being hidden from the public. I deserve to have my son back. Don't trust anyone with custody unless you truly can," Jenelle added.
Jenelle went on and said Barbara "isn't the most honest person" and never was. She also shared how her mom brainwashed her against her dad, who wasn't really a bad person.
Jenelle And Barbara's Relationship Amid Custody Battle
Jenelle and Barbara have a "broken bond," The Sun reported. Their "difficult" relationship has been well-documented on MTV's Teen Mom 2. The MTV star told the outlet in May that things between her and her mom were pretty rocky over her son Jace.
There was a time when Barbara agreed for Jace to live with Jenelle. However, she would take her word back after a week.
Jenelle believes that Jace loves to be at her home with his siblings. Also, she noticed that Jace isn't on his best behavior at Barbara's house. Also, he found a father figure in her husband and his step-dad, David Eason.
Jenelle couldn't take back Jace's custody because her mom, Barbara, would not sign to it. Speaking about her relationship with her mom, Jenelle thinks they would never reconcile.
"We will probably not ever repair our relationship, but if I do get custody I will continue to let Jace have a relationship with her," she told The Sun back in May.
"They've been together for such a long time, and I don't want to be petty and be petty against Jace just because I have something against my mom."
