Ted Lasso Season 3 is maybe the series’ last, but its cast is not yet ready to say goodbye to their roles that many have started to love. Will this be the hit Apple TV+ series’ final hurray?

Apple is yet to confirm if Ted Lasso Season 3 will be the last time fans are about to see Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and the rest of the gang on the small screen. However, series writer and star Brett Goldstein revealed that the third season’s final episode would be treated like the series finale. So, it looks like the cast is now preparing for their last outing.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Cast Not Yet Ready to Bid their Goodbyes

Hannah Waddingham told Deadline that she would like to stop things because she wasn’t ready to say goodbye to her role as Rebecca as they continued Ted Lasso Season 3’s filming.

“Brett and I were talking about [saying goodbye] earlier and we're both a little bit in denial but have been expecting it since the word go at the same time. It's like a long, slow mourning,” she said. “She's the girl—my girl—that I'm walking along next to and serving. I know that sounds dramatic but that's how I feel. I feel her rippling through my bloodstream and I'm not ready to not walk with her anymore."

Toheeb Jimoh said the same thing about his character, Sam.

"I feel Sam Obisanya in every fiber of my being. I really identify with this character; he's been a dream to play. Across this three-season journey, I've gotten to understand him as a person. It will be extremely difficult to say goodbye to him,” he explained.

However, for Kola Bokinni, who portrays Captain Isaac McAdoo, finishing the show is something he has already prepared himself for. Despite the ending, the actor aims to end the show with a new understanding.

"I'm preparing myself as much as I can. I've always taken this job one day at a time. I'm enjoying the journey," he said. "Working on this show has helped me grow up a little bit. When I started Ted Lasso, I was 26 and soon I'm going to be 30. I've gone from being a boy to a man, same as Isaac. I've been on quite a journey with him. I will leave the experience with a new understanding of patience and the importance of listening. Listening is key."

Is Ted Lasso Season 3 the End?

Goldstein told The Sunday Times that Ted Lasso Season 3 finale was being written as the series’ ending.

“It was planned as three,” he said.

Co-creator and the show’s lead Sudeikis seconded Goldstein’s claim, along with Brendan Hunt and Bill Lawrence.

In fact, Lawrence told Deadline in October that the series would only run for three seasons. However, he also teased that it could go beyond that.

“I would probably stay clean and say that even if Ted Lasso goes on, the story the writing staff has been telling had a beginning, middle and end for the first three seasons,” he said. “And then it might veer off from that.”
