Everything was kind of a-ok until Nate, one of the most gentle and charming characters, turned nasty, betraying Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and the rest of the gang. Actor Nick Mohammed teases what fans can expect from Nate in Ted Lasso Season 3.

Nick Mohammed teases what’s to come for Nate in Ted Lasso Season 3

Nate's fans are split on how they feel about him. Many people want to smack him in the face for ripping the "believe" sign, while others want to see him return to his former self.

Mohammed gives an update on where Nate might be heading in Ted Lasso Season 3 in an interview with Deadline. His response is cryptic, but it does hint at what's to come.

“I’m very aware that we’re in the middle of filming Season 3, so I can’t say too much, but all I’ll say is that we know, because we’re in the middle of the next journey by the end of Season 2, it has obviously taken a turn for the worse; and we wonder whether he can be redeemed?” Mohammed said.

“Maybe he’s gone too far, because I do think it felt like the ultimate betrayal. I think that even the kiss with Keeley felt like he’d really overstepped the mark as well. He’s done a lot of things which are like: ‘Now we’ve lost all faith in you.’”

Ted Lasso is a show about redemption, since Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) began as a villain and is now one of the show's nicest characters. In Season 2, Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) becomes a more likable character. Nate can change if Jamie can.

Nate left the squad at the end of Ted Lasso Season 2

Nate was the modest and unassuming equipment manager for AFC Richmond in Ted Lasso Season 1. Throughout the season, Ted expressed interest in Nate and encouraged him to speak up by valuing his viewpoint and encouraging him to speak up. Nate joined Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) and Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) as an assistant coach in Season 2.

With the inclusion of Roy, though, Nate began to feel that his voice was being dismissed. His strategies were succeeding, but Nate demanded more credit, which led to him lashing out at Ted. Despite the fact that the team was promoted, Nate left to join West Ham United, which is owned by Rebecca's ex-husband, Rupert (Anthony Head).

Is Ted Lasso Season 3 going to be the last?

Ted Lasso Season 3 is being scripted as the final season, according to Brett Goldstein. While it hasn't been confirmed that this will be the series' season finale, Mohammed did say that Sudeikis assured him that Nate's story will span three seasons.

Ted Lasso has been a great hit on Apple TV+, so it would be odd if it only lasted three seasons. If this is Nate's final season, he should return to the team that gave him his first shot.
