If you're a longtime Dragon Ball Z fan and have been on YouTube for 50 seconds, then you're familiar with TeamFourStar and their sublime Dragon Ball Z Abridged parody series. While the series started out as a way to get cheap laughs out of longtime fans, it quickly became its own thing, with many viewing it as an alternative adaptation of Akira Toriyama's series. After Episode 60, many were hoping to see Season 4 aka The Buu Saga in a couple of years but it looks like that won't be happening.
On the official TeamFourStar Patreon, it was announced that Dragon Ball Z Abridged won't be adapting the Buu Saga in any way, shape, or form. They won't use clips from the show, nor will they adapt it with their 3D animation used for Dragon ShortZ. Simply put, this is the end of DBZA and it's a hard pill to swallow for many fans.
According to the official explanation from Kaiserneko, the director and co-writer of this long-running parody series, there are plenty of factors that led to the end of DBZA, even after initially promising a fourth season that covers the Buu Saga. From burnout to other ventures, and wanting to be a more legitimate company and not wanting the risk of getting their work copyright struck from a nameless company, they all decided to call it quits and focus on their other projects.
Coming from someone who got into Dragon Ball Z through Dragon Ball Z Abridged, the news is disappointing and understandable. I would personally like to thank TeamFourStar for all of their hard work. If you haven't checked them out yet, here's their playlist with all 60+ episodes.
