After months of speculation about whether the global pop superstar will appear in Deadpool and Wolverine’s MCU debut, Entertainment Weekly debunks previous reports. It confirms this will not be the case.
The internet has been ablaze with rumours about Taylor Swift’s potential casting in the highly anticipated movie, a frenzy that began last year during her record-breaking The Eras Tour.
Fans have been feverishly searching for Easter eggs, speculating which role she could play, from Lady Deadpool to mutant songstress Dazzler. The excitement peaked when she was spotted with movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy at an NFL game in October 2023.
While Reynolds and Levy have neither confirmed nor denied any participation by Swift in the movie, Marvel seemingly has leaned into the buzz.
Two days ago, they even retweeted the official IMAX poster featuring Deadpool and Wolverine sporting matching friendship bracelets, accessories commonly worn by Swifties attending the popstar's concert.

Marvel also recently announced the solo comic book series of Dazzler, under the X-Men's revival era From the Ashes.
Aside from the fun fact that Alison Blaire shares Taylor Swift’s middle name, she will also be embarking on a world tour and releasing new music. Dazzler writer Jason Loo further teases, “Get ready to sing along to some new, original songs off of her new album! Some of them may be about her exes."
The news may disappoint Swifties who have been waiting for her arrival in the MCU since Avengers: Endgame, but the doors for a Marvel involvement are not yet fully closed. Earlier this month, an insider reported that head honcho Kevin Feige had met with Swift to discuss a possible role in the MCU.
Deadpool and Wolverine arrives at cinemas in July 2024.
