After the first volume’s release back in January, the one-shot collection is finally complete as Viz Media just released Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man 22-26 in English.
22-26 is the second volume in the Before Chainsaw Man series which is a compilation of Fujimoto’s earlier one-shots that were made before he started his most well-known manga.
While the title is unusual, it has a fairly simple meaning. The four one-shots in this volume were made when Fujimoto was aged between 22 and 26.
Tatsuki Fujimoto’s One-Shots and Previous Projects
Tatsuki Fujimoto is one of the most popular manga artists that are working today thanks to his mega-hit series, Chainsaw Man.
But even before he started writing about Denji, Fujimoto has published plenty of other works.
His first major serialized work is Fire Punch, which was published on Shonen Jump+ from 2016 to 2018.
This series is significant not only for its story but also because notable artists worked as assistants for Fujimoto in this series.
These include Tatsuya Endo (Spy x Family), Yuji Kaku (Hell’s Paradise), and Yukinobu Tatsu (Dandadan).
Fujimoto also has two notable one-shot manga that he released following the end of Chainsaw Man Part 1.
The first is Look Back, which follows a budding manga artist. He followed this up with Goodbye, Eri, a unique drama and mystery one-shot that features a movie-like style and a unique story.
Both these works were released on Jump+ in Japan and were subsequently released on Viz Media’s Shonen Jump online service.

Viz Media Releases Before Chainsaw Man Volume 2 in English
As for 22-26, this volume was initially published and released in Japan back on November 4, 2021.
Now, after over a year, Tatsuki Fujimoto fans can finally get their hands on a physical copy of this collection.
Viz Media released the volume on April 19, meaning fans can now get their hands on the physical version via online stores and other retailers.
The book is also available on several digital platforms.
Similar to the first volume, Before Chainsaw Man 22-26 features four one-shots:
- Ningyo Rhapsody (Mermaid Rhapsody)
- Me ga Sametara Onnanoko ni Natteita Yamai (Woke-Up-as-a-Girl Syndrome)
- Yogen no Nayuta (Nayuta of the Prophecy)
- Imouto no Ane (Sisters)
Before Chainsaw Man Volume 2 is now available in stores such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kinokuniya, and more for USD 9.99.
Meanwhile, the digital version is available on Google Play, iBooks, Kindle, and other digital retailers for USD 6.99.
