Tatooine is the Main Location for Star Wars: The Mandalorian

If there's a planet that's been visited the most times in Star Wars, then it would definitely have to be the Outer Rim planet Tatooine. There have been rumors going around that we'll be revisiting the place in The Mandalorian, but some new info suggests the planet will actually be more significant.

According to this leak on Reddit, Tatooine will actually be the main setting of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. While I'm not closing any doors on the show going to other planets, it's worth noting that the planet does contain the most ‘wretched hive of scum and villainy'—perfect for a show centered on some bounty hunter mercenary.

The show is said to be set a few years after Return of the Jedi, so besides seeing some familiar Tatooine locals like Jawas and Niktos, we should also come across some Imperial remnants. It's even said that the show will have some background characters donning some salvaged stormtrooper gear.

While Star Wars Episode IX remains to be one of the most anticipated reveals of Celebration this month, a lot of people are also looking forward to The Mandalorian. Though we've been getting years of animated shows, comics, and books, this will be Star Wars' first attempt at a live-action show under the Disney banner.

If this thing manages to become a hit, we could be looking at other live-action shows down the line. We know there's a Rogue One spinoff centered on Cassian Andor. Plus there's also a rumor going around that the Kenobi anthology film will be turned into a series as well.

No release date has been set for Star Wars: The Mandalorian, but the show is set to debut sometime within the year.
