Initially set for release in November of next year, Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder has been pushed back to February 2022. It's safe to say that the Chris Hemsworth feature already has its full script, considering that the actor himself teased it was "one of the best" he has read in years. However, news about the film has been scarce as of late... until now.

In a recent interview with BBC, Waititi confirms he has finished the script and the content pretty much fits what's expected in the movie given its title. "I think it's going to be really good," the filmmaker said. "We've finished, we've been writing the script off and on for over a year and I'm just, actually this week, doing another pass on it."

"It is so insane and it's also very romantic," he added, echoing that of Hemsworth's previous comment. "I'm into romances now. I just want to make a romance."

Waititi adds that he just wants to make something that he has "never done or never cared for" before, which is why he'd like to "attack" something of that caliber. While the script has been finished, as previously mentioned, Waititi will still do another pass on it during the lockdown, saying that he has been using "as much of that time as possible to get [the] story right."

Based on the director's comments, it's clear that Love and Thunder will be a different experience to that of the rest of Thor films and even the rest of Waititi's filmography for that matter.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on February 11, 2022.
