Kamala Khan Reportedly Making MCU Debut Before Ms. Marvel Series Release

Word broke out today saying that Marvel has delayed the production of the highly-anticipated Ms. Marvel live-action series because of COVID-19.

However, a new report says that the series delay won't stop Kamala Khan from making a grand debut. According to Marvel insider Charles Murphy, while Marvel is hoping to begin work on the production of Ms. Marvel in Atlanta in November (a couple months delay from the original start date in August), Marvel Studios is hoping to finalize casting Kamala Khan soon because the studio is hoping to have the character appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before the Miss Marvel debuts on Disney+.

This news comes as a surprise to Marvel fans following the Marvel news cycle. Everyone was expecting Kamala Khan to debut in Ms. Marvel before appearing anywhere else in the MCU. There were even rumors saying that Kamala would join Brie Larson's Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel 2 after she makes her Ms. Marvel debut.

Now, because of COVID-19, it seems like Marvel needs Kamala to make her debut somewhere else. We're not entirely sure what movie Kamala might pop in though it seems unlikely for the hero to appear in upcoming Marvel films like Black Widow and The Eternals knowing that the studio's already completed principal photography for both projects.

Maybe she could appear in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings? Maybe in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Kamala doesn't really have direct ties to both heroes, but it's still possible for Ms. Marvel to make an appearance. Let's wait and see.

Black Widow premieres November 6, 2020.
