Three years after Avengers: Endgame showed just how worthy the God of Thunder truly is, Chris Hemsworth is finally returning for his fourth solo outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So far, Thor: Love and Thunder has proven to be another box office hit for the folks over at Marvel Studios.

Shockingly enough though, the fourth installment in the Thor film franchise is getting a mixed reception from the fandom. While some thought it was pretty enjoyable, others claim Taika overdid his brand of humor and made Love and Thunder more comedic than it should have been.

Despite that, Taika is teasing what's next for the God of Thunder and while he's definitely up for more, the director has no plans of working on the fifth film anytime soon. In an interview with Uproxx, Waititi said: "Well, yeah, not right now. If Chris was into it and stuff, I'm sure there's an even crazier thing that we could probably come up with."

Despite the divided opinion fans and critics have towards the film, Thor: Love and Thunder continues to perform well at the box office. Now, while Marvel Studios has yet to announce anything, it's almost a guarantee that Taika will return to helm the fifth film especially considering Hemsworth stated in previous interviews that he'll only agree to come back as long as Taika is involved.

It would also be safe to assume that the mixed reaction Love and Thunder has been getting is an eye-opener for the director and here's to hoping he won't repeat the same mistakes he did for the next sequel.

Thor: Love and Thunder is now screening in cinemas.
