Sylvie's Depressing Backstory Revealed in Loki Episode 4

The fourth episode of Loki is finally here and it didn't disappoint. Amazingly, Episode 4 immediately revealed Sylvie's backstory and it is even more depressing than Loki's childhood.

The following contains SPOILERS from Loki Episode 4. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

The latest episode is titled The Nexus Event and it immediately takes us back to Asgard. However, this isn't Loki's home. It's actually the place where Sylvie had her brief yet happy moments as a child.

Sylvie is shown playing with her toys and she appears to be imagining an Asgard that doesn't have to face Ragnarok. However, the child is suddenly captured and brought to the TVA.

Not surprisingly, young Sylvie doesn't want to spend the rest of her life at the TVA so she steals Renslayer's TemPad and escapes to a different timeline. From there, she continues to hide from the TVA by staying in apocalyptic events.

The revelation about Sylvie's sad backstory immediately had fans crying over the Variant's fate.

What makes Sylvie's story even more depressing is the fact that she never found out why she was captured by the TVA at such a young age. This could explain why she is so angry and confused and has been lashing out at the TVA.

It's also cool to see that young Sylvie had dark hair which pretty much confirms that she had been dyeing or enchanting her own hair into a different color in an effort to distance herself from Loki.

So what was young Sylvie's crime? There's a possibility that it's something that actually happens in the future and the TVA took her as a child to prevent it from happening. Hopefully, Renslayer will tell her the truth in the next episode.

Loki Episode 4 is now streaming on Disney+.
