It's going to take a while before we see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with James Gunn still working on DC's The Suicide Squad but we have been assured that it will be a worthwhile wait. Gunn's first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies were great so we wouldn't be surprised if the third one ends this franchise on a high note, even with the whole Past Gamora in the present making things weird.
Two actors who appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and are hoping to appear in the sequel are Sylvester Stalone and Michael Rosenbaum. Speaking with ComicBook.com, Rosenbaum brought up a humorous conversation he had with Stalone about coming back for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, feeling confident that the two will have some sort of role, especially after that post-credits sequence that reunited this classic Guardians team.
"I think that was the plan all along...you're going to see these guys in the end credits. Why bring Stallone on alone just to be in such a small part? You kind of want to see what he does, I mean I don't know how you wouldn't. He's like, 'You're asking me, like I know?' I'm like, 'You're Stallone.' He goes, 'Look, we're in the credits, why wouldn't they bring us back?' I go, 'That's what I'm saying.' He's like, 'I'm not James Gunn, James can do what he wants but look, if I was James Gunn, I'd put us in the movie.' I'm like, 'Thanks, Stallone, thank you.'"
Gunn would later comment on the matter, talking about how Rosenbaum could appear in a future MCU picture but not necessarily Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He could always be playing coy with us to keep fans surprised for the third installment in this series so here is hoping we find out eventually.
No release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been released.
