The Suicide Squad's Sylvester Stallone Confirms Upcoming DCU Return

With James Gunn and Peter Safran now helming DC Studios, a lot of fans are excited to see which direction they will go for the future of the DCU and which characters will they bring back or introduce to the audience. Now, another notable DCU character has been confirmed to return to the franchise soon according to its portrayer.

Speaking recently with ComicBook.com, Sylvester Stallone, who voiced King Shark in The Suicide Squad, was asked whether he will be reprising his DCU role again in the future. He confirmed that he is indeed set to return and credited his wonderful working relationship with Gunn for his continuing role.

"Yes, for sure. I think James has been very generous... He and I are pretty tight. So if there's an opportunity... I love him, he's great," he responded.

Besides working with Gunn on The Suicide Squad, Stallone also previously worked with him on his MCU project Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as well as the upcoming third film where he plays the role of Stakar Ogord.

So far, there are no details yet about which upcoming DCU project will King Shark appear next based on this new information. Given the nature of the character, the most logical next step for him is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom or the second season of Peacemaker which is under the direction of Gunn.

Either way, it is exciting to hear that the fan-favorite character is expected to return to the franchise soon. Hopefully, he will have more fun moments again just like in The Suicide Squad, or deep dive into the character more. Who knows, maybe they are also working on a spinoff project centering on him. We shall find out about this soon enough.
