Sword Art Online fans were in for a treat when they tuned in to the anime's panel during Aniplex Online Fest 2021. The official Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night release date has just been revealed along with the main visual.

It was previously confirmed that Sword Art Online: Progressive is getting its own anime film adaptation. Although the first teaser and key visual were dropped in September last year, there haven't been a lot of updates on the project since then.

Luckily, things changed during the Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night Past & Future panel at Aniplex Online Fest 2021. It was finally confirmed that the anime movie will premiere in October. In addition to that, the main visual for the film was unveiled. Check it out below.

For now, Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night is only confirmed to premiere in Japan. However, the anime's official English Twitter account also pointed out that the movie is also getting a US release. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Aria of a Starless Night is based on the Sword Art Online: Progressive light novels and will follow the encounter between Kirito and Asuna as the latter struggles to cope with the realities of her new world. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu will return to provide the voices of Kirito and Asuna, respectively.

Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night will premiere in Japan on October 30, 2021. The anime movie has not yet been given an official US release date.
