Swan Song Trailer Shows Blade Star Mahershala Ali Cloning Himself as He Faces Death

If you find out that you are diagnosed with a terminal illness, would you clone yourself so that your family would avoid the grieving process? That is the question that the upcoming science-fiction drama film Swan Song is exploring. Today, Apple has dropped the first official trailer.

Per the official logline, "Set in the near future, Swan Song is a powerful, emotional journey told through the eyes of Cameron (Mahershala Ali), a loving husband and father diagnosed with a terminal illness who is presented with an alternative solution by his doctor (Glenn Close) to shield his family from grief. As Cam grapples with whether or not to alter his family’s fate, he learns more about life and love than he ever imagined. Swan Song explores how far we will go, and how much we’re willing to sacrifice, to make a happier life for the people we love."

The film is directed and written by Oscar-winner Benjamin Cleary. It stars Mahershala Ali (MCU's Blade), Naomie Harris (Venom: Let There Be Carnage), Glenn Close (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Awkwafina (Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings).

Based on the trailer, it looks like a very intriguing and emotional science-fiction film that grapples with a moral dilemma that might relate to a lot of people. It seems like it is a thought-provoking exploration of the concept of cloning. A lot of science-fiction films in the past have explored cloning, but nothing in this kind of way where it has an emotional and familial stake.

It also looks like a huge acting showcase for Ali, who has been proven time and time again that he is one of the best actors today. Of course, we will get to see him soon as Blade in the MCU. The film is definitely worth checking out based on this trailer.
