There are a lot of movies to look forward to this coming fall season, and Fandango has conducted a survey of over 1000 participants to see which film most people are excited for. On the top of the list? Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Check out this list put up by Fandango's Erik Davis:
Interestingly enough, though Fantastic Beasts is on the top for most anticipated movie, the actor Eddie Redmayne only manages to be in the top three of most anticipated actors. At the top of the actor list is Rami Malek, who is set to play Freddie Mercury in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
The most anticipated actress, Lady Gaga, is the only one with a movie that is highly anticipated (A Star is Born). Other actresses' films didn't even crack the top five at all.
I'm amazed that Venom made the list of top anticipated movies at all, because after the release of the second trailer, there was a mixed reaction from fans thanks to that ‘turd in the wind' monologue. Then again the character does look amazing, and the way he speaks seems very reminiscent to Venom from the comics.
As for Fantastic Beasts, I'm sure the marketing push will go full swing once October hits. The first film did particularly well, but I'm still waiting for the franchise to hook me in just like Harry Potter did when it first came out.
Catch Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald when it hits theaters Nov. 16.
