Superman & Lois is about to premiere in a few days and the recent character poster released via the official Twitter page of the series showcases a scruffier version of Superman with Tyler Hoechlin donning the Superman suit perfectly matching his facial hair, a fresh departure from clean-shaven versions of Clark Kent.
Tyler Hoechlin previously shared how his version of Superman differs to other incarnations of the Man of Steel and gave five distinct personas of his character: the Superman everyone knows as a symbol of hope and strength yet no one knows his true identity, the Superman whose identity is known by those close to his heart, Clark Kent and his extreme version, Clark Kent is known as Superman, and Clark Kent as a person where he's at his most comfortable and can be himself.
The upcoming The CW series will be focusing on the life and challenges of Clark Kent and Lois Lane as parents to their sons, Jonathan and Jordan, who have yet to manifest whether they have inherited the powers of their father, Superman.
The family will be back to their idyllic home in Smallville and will be facing the complexities of being a regular family managing their family business at home. Their quiet life gets upended when a mysterious visitor comes to town who wants to prove that the world doesn't need Superman anymore.
"Saving the world starts at home." The trailers carry these words as Clark Kent would be facing his adversities both as Superman and as a parent to his children who have yet to discover that their father is Superman.
Joining Tyler Hoechlin's Superman will be Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Jordan Elsas as Jonathan Kent, Alexander Garfin as Jordan Kent, Dylan Walsh as General Lane, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang, Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, and Wolé Parks as the mysterious visitor.
Superman & Lois is scheduled for a 90-minute premiere on February 23, 2021, at 8 pm followed by Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope at 9:30 pm on The CW.
