The CW network has announced its upcoming DC series Superman & Lois will be released with a 90-minute special premiere. It will receive an expanded 90-minute series premiere from 8 pm, to be followed by a half-hour special titled Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope at 9:30 pm.
To give room for the Superman & Lois event night, CW moved The Flash's premiere on March 2 at 9 pm. The Flash was originally scheduled for a February 23 release at 8 pm. The special will offer fans a sneak peek at the series, alongside interviews with the cast.
A few weeks ahead of the premiere, a new teaser trailer for CW's Superman & Lois was released. In the new teaser trailer, it looks like the series channeled director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.
The teaser offered fans their first look at General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh) and Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui). Fans also get to see the two teenage sons of the couple with Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin).
The tone of the trailer is very similar to Zack Snyder's Man of Steel in 2013, which stars Henry Cavill. The trailer also showed Clark Kent and Lois Lane's lives after returning to Smallville.
The series will focus on Clark Kent or Superman and his wife as the couple deals with the stress, complexities, and pressures. The series will also delve into the premise of the two being parents to two teenage sons. It also tackles whether their sons will inherit their father's abilities.
The series will have the couple return to Smallville to handle a Kent family business. The couple gets reacquainted with some people. The two are rediscovering old friendships but Lois' father General Samuel Lane also seeks the help of Superman to either fight a villain or save the day when needed.
Superman & Lois will be released on February 23, 2021.
