Superman & Lois: Jenna Dewan to Return as Supergirl Character

As production for the second season of Superman & Lois is currently underway, a familiar face is set to make its long-awaited return in the Arrowverse.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Jenna Dewan is set to reprise her role as Lucy Lane on the second season of Superman & Lois for a recurring role. She previously played the role during the first season of Supergirl. With her appearance, this would be the first time ever that Dewan's Lucy Lane and Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois Lane will be sharing scenes together on-screen.

It is unknown yet what kind of involvement Lucy Lane will have in the plot during the second season of the series. She was last seen during the season one finale of Supergirl when she was the director of D.E.O. and helping Kara and J'onn J'onzz in their fight against Non and Indigo. We could guess that her appearance will be more of a family business to reunite with her dad Sam and sister Lois, who apparently she didn't get along with.

We don't know yet if the Lucy Lane that we will see in the series will be the same one that we saw in Supergirl. After all, it's been five years since she last appeared. Then there was the Crisis on Infinite Earth event years ago that rebooted the entire Arrowverse which poses a large question on the character's continuity. But since it's the same actress, we can pretty much assume that it would the same Lucy Lane that we met from Supergirl.

The first season of Superman & Lois was a huge success and received positive responses from critics and fans for its unique and refreshing take on the Man of Steel. Fans are looking forward to seeing what's next for the Kent family.
