A few days ago, we learned that The CW has decided to renew Superman & Lois for a 10-episode fourth season. While it will have a shorter episode run than the past seasons, fans are still delighted that the show will be extending its run for another season.

However, its renewal also comes with a cost as reports also revealed that the upcoming season will have a budget cut that is going to result in several cast members departing as series regulars.

Now, we finally know which of the cast members are losing their full-time status ahead of the fourth season.

Deadline has revealed that Dylan Walsh (Sam Lane), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Lana Lang), Erik Valdez (Kyle Cushing), Inde Navarrette (Sarah Cortez), Wole Parks (John Henry Irons), Taylor Buck (Natalie Lane Irons), and Sofia Hasmik (Chrissy Beppo) will not return as series regulars in the fourth season of Superman & Lois.

However, they might still come back as guest stars/recurring players in the fourth season depending on the interest and the availability of the actors.

The core actors who play the Kent family, Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Michael Bishop, and Alex Garfin, are the only series regulars who will retain their full-time status in the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Michael Cudlitz, who made his debut as Lex Luthor during the third season, has been promoted to series regular status for the fourth season. Chad L. Coleman will not return as his character was only intended for the arc of the third season.

This is certainly a disappointing update since some of those characters have been a main staple since the beginning of the series and it is interesting to see how they will explore their reduced screen time in the upcoming season.

It's also mostly disheartening for the actors since they lost their full-time job and, hopefully, the producers of the series will be able to work around these massive changes and the affected cast members will still be recruited in the new season even with their demotion.
