Speculations are running high that Henry Cavill is finally jumping ship to the Marvel Cinematic Universe following a rocky stint in the DC Extended Universe. The Justice League actor is reportedly joining the second season of Loki to play the villain Hyperion which is essentially Marvel's answer to the Man of Steel.
As it stands, reputable sources have yet to verify Cavill's potential involvement in the hit Disney+ show but that hasn't stopped the fandom from hoping it's true. Following the rumor, MCU fans rejoiced at the idea of the British star finally being utilized "properly" in a comic book role.
Instagram artist @clements.ink also joined the bandwagon and unveiled his marvelous take on Cavill portraying Hyperion. Of course, there's no reason it wouldn't work especially considering the parallels between Superman and Hyperion. Check it out here:

Personally, I feel like casting Cavill as Hyperion is a little too on the nose but hey, if it ends up being true, it's going to be a huge slap on WB's face seeing him play a Superman-esque character in the MCU.
Meanwhile, several reports claim that WB actually reached out to Henry in hopes of him reprising his DCEU role but the actor allegedly turned the studio down. Perhaps Cavill eventually grew tired of campaigning for a Superman comeback and let's be real here, you really can't blame the guy if he's experiencing cold feet about playing the role once again.
Loki Season 2 is currently in production.
