- Quick Answer: The Supergirl trailer reveals Kara's quest to save a poisoned Krypto alongside Lobo, featuring a cameo by David Corenswet’s Superman.
The Supergirl trailer is here, and it looks set to be the next big hit following David Corenswet’s Superman.
From high-octane action to emotional moments, the trailer delivers plenty of goosebump-inducing scenes featuring Milly Alcock’s cosmic adventure as Kara Zor-El.
While fans might have an idea of how the movie will end, the trailer teases some surprising events they won’t want to miss. From Krypto’s fate to Superman’s appearance, here are the five major reveals in the Supergirl trailer.
Superman’s Appearance

Fans’ questions about Superman’s possible appearance in Supergirl are finally answered when Kal-El appears in the trailer, leaving a message for Kara.
Kal looks concerned about his reckless cousin and her destructive behavior. But judging by the trailer, Kara can handle herself, as her enemies appear no match for her powers.
With Kara’s brief appearance at the end of the 2025 film Superman, it’s fitting that Kal makes even a short cameo.
Krypto’s Fate

Fans fell in love with Krypto when he helped Kal in Superman, and now they’re set to love him even more in Supergirl.
However, the DC Superdog faces danger after being shot with a toxic substance that puts his life at risk.
As revealed in the trailer, Krypto has only three days to live, forcing Kara to join Rutheye on her quest for revenge after Krem and his men killed her father.
Since Supergirl is based on the comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, fans who have read it already know Krypto’s fate.
To avoid spoilers, moviegoers should wait to see what happens next–but rest assured, they won’t be upset. After all, if Krypto dies, many fans would surely riot.
Kara’s Father

It’s well known that Krypton was destroyed, prompting Superman’s parents to send Kal to Earth.
But Kal wasn’t the only one sent to survive; Kara was also launched in a spacecraft.
The Supergirl trailer shows Kara’s father, Zor-El, sending her off by building a rocket to save his daughter, telling her, “Be good.”
Why Kara Left Krypto with Superman

At the start of the trailer, Kara confesses that she has no one, making Krypto the only companion by her side.
This explains her love for the dog, as she tells him, “Home is wherever you are, buddy” and “There’s no home without you, buddy.”
So, why did she leave Krypto with Superman? At the end of the first DCU film, Kara arrives at the Fortress of Solitude drunk after fetching Krypto from her cousin. It seems she had just attended a wild party, leaving Kal to look after her dog, as seen in the trailer. That’s not a big deal, though.
Kal takes excellent care of Krypto, even rescuing him from Lex Luthor’s pocket dimension. If Kara ended up saving Krypto, she surely wouldn’t have given Lex another day to live.
Is Lobo Kara’s Ally?

Fans finally get a full look at Jason Momoa’s Lobo in the Supergirl trailer after his brief appearance in the teaser.
This time, he even has lines, telling Kara she’s hurting his head before chugging a glass of alcohol.
By the looks of it, he could become Kara’s ally in Supergirl despite being known as an anti-hero who serves only himself.
At one point, he’s seen taking out adversaries. However, near the end of the trailer, Kara quickly grabs a spear before it can harm Ruthye and hurls it back at Lobo.
Lobo may have initially been working with Ruthye before having a change of heart and siding with Kara. While it remains unclear which is true, fans may get to see both sides of Lobo in Supergirl.
Supergirl is set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
