Supergirl Season 5 SDCC Trailer Teases Major Battle Between Lena Luthor And Kara Danvers

It looks like Lex Luthor's final move to destroy Supergirl is the most effective one so far. The first trailer for Supergirl Season 5 has just debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 and it confirms a major battle between Lena Luthor and Kara Danvers.

The trailer opens with Kara dealing with the aftermath of Lex's thwarted plans in the fourth season, hoping that people will now fight harder for social change. However, everyone appears to be completely distracted by their gadgets and looking like zombies. On the other hand, there is one person who seems determined to avoid people altogether.

Lena is no longer interested in other human beings. "I trust in technology, not people. Not anymore," she says. There's a good reason why she feels this way; her own brother had revealed that Kara had been lying to her from the start.

It's a cruel move from Lex considering how much the betrayal has affected Lena. In the trailer, she struggles with her anger but is ultimately unable to control herself. "I'm not a villain. I don't want to kill Supergirl," she claims. "I just want her to experience the same hurt she inflicted on me, and soon enough, she will."

Just how serious is Lena? At one point, she confronts Supergirl by calling her Kara. When Kara tries to explain, Lena PUNCHES her and makes her reel back.

That's a serious punch and one that has us wondering how Lena managed to pull it off. Needless to say, this is one fight that Kara won't be able to win easily just yet.

Supergirl Season 5 will air on The CW on October 6.
