Super Junior celebrated their 15th anniversary two years ago. To mark the group’s milestone, they made a comeback with The Renaissance.

Reports said that the album obtained a generally positive reception from the public. Some reviewers even stated that it features the evolution of the K-pop act’s music, while providing nostalgia to its fandom.

In terms of evoking sentimentality for the past, the now-10-member group, alongside SM Entertainment, has announced that it will drop a new production. Koreaboo reported that it is part of the agency’s “Remastering Project,” which centers on producing remastered versions of various years-old music videos.

Super Junior And A Remastered Version Of U

On Wednesday, media outlets learned that Super Junior and SM Entertainment will release a remastered version of U's music video. It will premiere on the label's official YouTube channel, "SMTOWN," on January 13 at 10 in the morning, KST.

The publication said that U is the K-pop group's first single track that garnered massive attention and popularity, particularly in 2006. The idols won several awards because of the single, allowing them to establish their place in the world of K-pop.

It is said that the remastered version will provide viewers with a much "clearer" and "crisper" view of the music video.

A Project Between SM Entertainment And YouTube Originals

The "Remastering Project" is a collaboration between SM Entertainment and YouTube Originals. It was first announced in November 2021 as part of the SM Congress 2021.

The agency teased at that time that the project will produce high-definition quality music videos of old singles and tracks from their "founding rosters of artists." These include SHINHWA, Fly To Sky, and BoA, according to Bandwagon Asia.

SM Entertainment dropped a 4K rework of H.O.T.'s 1996 hit, Warrior's Descendant, serving as the first-ever product of the project.

Meanwhile, it is unclear, though, whether U is the only Super Junior track that will have a remastered version under the same collaboration.
