Suicide Squad’s Ayer Cut Campaign is Trending on Twitter

It looks like the DC fandom is at it again.

Now that Zack Snyder's official iteration of Justice League is finally on its way to HBO Max next year after years and years campaigning for the Snyder Cut's release, DC fans have begun to rally together on Twitter again, this time for the release of David Ayer's version of Suicide Squad.

There was a whole lot of excitement for Suicide Squad when DC began promoting the film's release – the DC Extended Universe spinoff movie was touted to be one of DC's darker, grittier, comic book movies. However, the film ended up becoming a major disappointment to fans and critics who couldn't help but cringe at the film's muddled plot and poorly written characters.

Over the years, fans couldn't help but feel that Warner Brothers had interfered in the development of the film, noting the many Jared Leto scenes had been cut from the movie. Ayer himself has also opened up about changes made to the film, saying that it would take Warner Brothers far less money and effort to release the "Ayer Cut" of Suicide Squad.

Now, DC fans have come to rally behind the Ayer Cut, asking Warner Brothers to release Ayer's rendition of the movie.

We're not entirely sure how long it's going to take DC fans to campaign for the Ayer Cut till Warner Brothers gives in to the fanbase's demands – it took years before the studio decided that it would have the Snyder Cut over at HBO Max.

Let's cross our fingers and wait and see whether anything comes out of this new campaign.
