The Roy family will take the business in Norway in Succession Season 4. The Waystar-GoJo merger is about to move forward, and the tech mogul Lukas Matsson (Alexander SkarsgĂĄrd) will lure the family empire to the mountains.
Succession Season 4 is now in production, and the stars SkarsgĂĄrd, Nicholas Braun, and Sarah Snook are now in the country for filming. They will be talking business as usual in western Norway, the Atlantic Ocean Road, the Romsdalen Gondola, and the luxurious Juvet Landscape Hotel.
Succession Season 4 to Feature More of Lukas Matsson
Producer Scott Ferguson told Variety that the new season would reveal more about Matsson after being introduced in the third season.
The sales of the media conglomerate Waystar RoyCo to Mattson are getting really closer. With that, the Roys can’t help but ask what future waits for them as it happens.
From there, the GoJo CEO invites the family to his hometown.

“Last season, we had an important new character and a new storyline, a potential merger with Alexander Skarsgård’s tech company,” Ferguson said about Skarsgård’s coming to the series.
“We were really excited when Alexander came on board — he’s a wonderful actor. And from the beginning, [showrunner Jesse Armstrong’s] idea was that the tech company was going to be led by someone from a Scandinavian country,” he continued. “In the writer’s room, around February, Jesse had an idea for an episode they wanted to be in [Matsson’s] part of the world.”

With the new location of Norway, fans are about to see several dramatic scenes set in the country’s dramatic landscapes in Succession Season 4.
The Coming of Alexander SkarsgĂĄrd in Succession Season 4
Fans thought SkarsgĂĄrd would only guest-start in the third season of the series, but the latter half hinted that he had an important recurring role.
As his acquisition of Waystar progresses, fans will get to know more about the CEO. He seems to hang the Roy kids’ succession by a thread, as they will be out of their comfort zones in Matsson’s world.
The new season will pick up where the third season ended, seeing Logan Roy (Brian Cox) selling the family company to Matsson against the will of his children: Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Snook).
Succession Season 4 is expected to be out on HBO next year.
